Riesling Classic 2016

100% Estate Vineyard/ Okanagan Falls/ Rolling Hills Road

Sourced from our 31 year old vines, produced only in stainless steel tanks. This “Queen” of German wines offers oodles fruit and acidity in perfect balance. It features a scintillating fruity lemon nose, apples on the palate, and with an amazing minerality tied in. A Riesling which will surprise & convince at the same time, as it is not sweet at all and for that reason a matchmaker when it comes to food pairing. West coast Cuisine, backed cheese dishes, seafood, chicken, veal, pork, grilled veggies or just a plate of charcuterie… it’s endless.

Enjoy: now-2021 (after 2021- only if you are a dry Riesling fan with a petrol craving)
Dryness level:  zero  (8gr/L)

Are you a Riesling NERD? - then you will love this too...

Riesling Selection

100% Estate Vineyard/ Okanagan Falls/ Rolling Hills Road

Zesty refreshing, layered with apples and citrus and more finesse. My softest & richest Riesling, due to skin contact. You will discover notes of minerality & a long finish. A serious Riesling with so much to offer. Open the bottle at least 4hrs prior dinner or give it a short swirl in a decanter. YES!  it will reward you with an unobstructed Riesling experience.

Bernd came up with another idea – “His Riesling project”… a Riesling in a GG (Großes Gewächs)  manner (old vines, top site, south-west exposure, low yield, hand picked, indigenous yeast, released in late summer of the following year).
Extra vineyard work included: aggressive pruning, thinning in Spring and green harvest to one grape/shoot in August.
Staying with the idea that less is more Bernd didn’t add anything in the cellar. The fermenting with the grapes native yeast increased the intensity and showcases the true “terrain”.

We are happy to add the third Riesling style to our wine family and be able to introduce to you the style variations a Riesling grape is capable to offer.

Enjoy 2018-2020 (lots more to discover after 2019, but expect then more petrol and riper fruit touches)
Dryness level: zero (8gr/L)

As mother nature is the main composer in creating a SELECTION so far it worked out only in 2011, 2013, 2015 & 2016. There will be no SELECTION in 2017 as the whole valley was still full of wildfire smoke end of August. The risk of ending up with smoke taint in this delicate wine was to high at that point. It all cleared out in September but to late for SELECTION.  Well there is always Next Year 😉
