Our wine shop is the original farmhouse on the property that we renovated in 2015, and it still feels more like visiting a family than touring a facility, because that’s what it is. Depending on the day and the weather, we’ll pour for you at the tasting bar, in the living room, out on the patio, in the courtyard under the cabana, or at a table in the garden.
A tasting runs about 30 minutes: a splash of our estate cider to wake up your palate, then five wines, poured one at a time and talked about as much (or as little) as you like. First visit? Ask for the whole story… We’ve had 243 years to work on it. Regular? We’ll skip to what’s new. $15 per person, waived with a bottle purchase. One bottle waives one fee, and we’re fairly confident you’ll find one you want to take home.
Hours: The tasting room is open SAT from 10:30 to 5 until Dec 19th 2026. For purchases and pick ups, reach out to arrange a date/time. If you drive by and the gate is open, Stefanie is most likely at the wine shop office and will be happy to help with purchases.
Where: 6807 Highway 97, Summerland, on the Trout Creek flats, 350 metres from Okanagan Lake. [map and directions]
Regular Tastings: Accomodates groups up to a max of 8 guests.
Tour Companies: Please book ahead so we can set up your table before you arrive.
Larger Groups: For groups of more than 8 guests or those with custom requirements, please contact the winery directly by phone at 250-494-1783 or email at info@8thgeneration.com instead of booking a standard online time slot.
Picnics: The red-sail picnic area is open to visitors—grab a chilled bottle of Red One, or any of our wines, and enjoy the vineyard & garden views.
Kids & Dogs: Pets must be on a leash and can join outside tastings. Only service animals are allowed inside the wine shop. Our space is Kid-friendly too.
Garden Etiquette: As beautiful & inviting as our large garden looks, it is not a U-pick flower garden. It’s planted for everyone to enjoy but mainly to support the pollinators.
Accessibility: We offer a designated parking spot, a ramp for easy access, and an accessible washroom. Tasting inside or outside is possible.
A small request: Wine tastings work best scent-free, so go easy on the perfume or cologne the day you visit. Your Syrah will thank you.
