WHY IT EXISTS: "White from black" - a white wine pressed gently from dark-skinned Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir before the colour can escape the skins. It's a European tradition we're proud to keep alive in the Okanagan, and our answer to the question "do you have a Sauvignon Blanc?" No, we don't. We have something better. Since we sold the Okanagan Falls vineyard — and, with it, the larger parcel of Riesling—we were left with only 0.8 acres of Riesling in Summerland—not enough to split the crop into two styles, dry and medium-dry—so we needed a "replacement" for a dry white and created the Blanc de Noir. In hindsight, we created our own competition, because with this wine, many Pinot Meunier Rosé lovers now enjoy this dry version too.
IN THE GLASS: Very expressive nose; zesty citrus, gooseberry, stone fruit and a hint of passionfruit—refreshing, dry, loaded with fruit.
AT THE TABLE: Seafood, roast chicken, flatbreads, tacos, rich pastas, anything salty or intense. Or a patio and a charcuterie board and no plans for the rest of the day,
THE FACTS: 66% Pinot Meunier, 34% Pinot Noir · RS 8 g/L · 13.8% ABV · TA 6.6 g/L · Drink this season.
